Due date is Friday December 8th
The due date gives students 11 weeks (not including Fall Break) to research and put the project together. That is way more time than they need to complete this project, so there should be no excuse for them not doing a really good job on this.
The project will be a TEST grade for the 2nd 9 weeks.
What if a student loses the project handout that you give them? The project handout & rubric is already posted on my website. If they lose it, they can print it out or just pull it up on their iPad.
Note: I will not have any Bellwork questions in my class until after Fall Break so that they can use any down time between now and then to work on the project in class. I will also set aside a lot of time in class to work on this with their partner. They will be given more than enough time in class to get this project completed, though students can work on it at home if they chose to do so.

Both of these are the same project. I know that some computers open up documents differently, so I did one for word and one for pages. The document that is copied below the two project links is also the same project but I put it here just in case you couldn't get either of the two links to work. It doesn't look neat and nice but it will still give you the same information, just in case you can't the two links to open properly.
American Revolution Newspaper Project
Name ____________________________________ Partner’s name ____________________________
Purpose of doing this project:
You and your partner will work together to create a newspaper discussing the important events leading up to the American Revolution, during the Revolution and the impact of the Revolution.
How do I look up the information that I need for this project?
NOTE: You will be required to have at least 2 sources where you found your information.
* You can NOT use your notes or the textbook (in-class or online) but these together would only count as one resource.
* You can use any book out of the AMS library for one of your resources
* You can use the internet as one of your resources, but be careful with the websites that you use.
o Wikipedia CAN’T be used as a resource, it’s not always reliable.
o Here are a few great sites that I would recommend you use:

♣ You aren’t limited to these sites but you might really want to check these first, because I know they are good, legitimate American Revolution websites.
How will I be graded?
There are 2 parts to the project grade:
1. 90% of your grade comes from the content you provided to the components you agreed to do on this project
A. Did you do all of the components that you were required to do?
B. Did you answer all of the information that was asked for in each component?
C. Was the information you presented in a way that was easy to understand and coherent?
D. Did you limit grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes?
E. Did you make sure that everything was neat?
Grade break down for your part of the Newspaper Project:
10% for Component #1 and Component #2 Note: you do one component & your partner the other one
15% for Component #3 Note: each of you will do one part of Component 3, so your part is worth 15%
15% for Component #4 Note: each of you will do one part of Component 4, so your part is worth 15%
20% for Component #5 Note: each of you will do one part of Component 5, so your part is worth 20%
20% for Component #6 Note: each of you will do one part of Component 6, so your part is worth 20%
80% total for your part/work on the 6 Components of the project
+ 10% comes from making sure all of your timelines/maps/graphs/pictures are correct for your work
90% Project Total points for your part of the Newspaper project (see #2 below for the last 10%)
2. 10% comes from the overall project that you and your partner turn in
a. You obviously can’t do all the work but you should be able to work together to agree on dividing up the components and helping each other as much as possible.
i. You will discuss and agree on which parts and components each of you will do BEFORE you start the project. That will assure that there is no argument about who did what after the project is finished. You are responsible for the parts that you are supposed to do. Then if you have time, you would need to try and help your partner with their part.
b. If your partner refuses to do their part, you will not be counted off for that, as long as your part is finished and you have the rest of the newspaper completed.
i. How is the 10% graded
1. Overall attractiveness of the newspaper- does it look nice?
2. Neatness- nice straight lines on the handwritten parts
a. anything pasted onto the project is neat & straight
3. Is the newspaper easy to read and understand?
